The vibrant creativity of our student artists took center stage this week as the high school unveiled its much-anticipated annual art show. The art show has hundreds of students’ artworks from all the art classes we have here at SMHS. We have over 200 works of art in the art show! The art show is in the SMHS cafeteria. It starts on Thursday, May 15th and runs through Monday May 19th, and is open during school hours for students to see artwork. The opening reception is on Thursday, May 15th from 5:00-6:30 pm and there will be appetizers and live music. Everyone is welcome to attend the art show!
Senior Sofia Sassessn said about her artwork: “The inspiration for my painting came from those soft ‘unspoken’ actions that occur between friends. There’s no love purer than that of true unconditional friendship. It’s an endless fountain of inspiration.”
Digital arts teacher Mr. Bazylewiez said about the art show: “That young people have the ability to express themselves and that is something that digital art is an avenue for students to be able to do, is to be able to express themselves do their artwork so I think it’s great because of that, plus a lot of hours and hard work go into these works and it’s great to show that off and the work ethnic and what students have been doing all year.”
The art show is not just a celebration of creativity – it is a powerful reminder of the talent, passion, and imagination that thrive within our school community.
