The Royals knew that this would be a tough match considering they were defeated the last time they played at Santa Barbara. However, this did not stop their aggressiveness, as they came out with attack after attack.

The Dons took the first game with a score of 25-19, but this wasn’t going to discourage the Royals. They came back with big hits from both Allen sisters and won the second game 25-14.

Despite a large lead of 24-21 in the third game, the Royals couldn’t finish and lost 25-27 due to massive blocks by Santa Barbara middle, Caroline Anderson.

After a pep talk from Coach Downing, the Royals came back to win the fourth, with a score of 25-22, which set them up for a 15-9 win in the last game to secure the win.

“We worked as a team and pulled together,” said captain, Andie O’ Donnell, who was credited with 50 assists. This was a great win for the San Marcos girl’s volleyball team who will play at Buena on Tuesday October 30th to lock in their spot as Channel League Champions.
