The Royals, coming off a big win at Santa Barbara High School, came out strong and defeated Buena on Wednesday night at a home game with a score of 63-53.
In the first quarter Ian Douglas put up a 3 pointer and then followed it with a jump shot to tie the game up at 14-14 entering the second quarter.
Buena went on an 11-0 run at the beginning of the third quarter that put them up by 7, but San Marcos fought back and regained the lead for the rest of the game.
“I played as hard as I could this game and it payed off,” said Douglas who was coming back from an injury.
Both Bryce Ridenour and Douglas scored 13 points and led the Royals to victory. The team improves to 3-1 in league after 3 rounds. The next step for the Royals is beating rival team Dos Pueblos which is next Wednesday at DP.
