On January 25, 2013 San Marcos High School boys basketball took on Santa Barbara High School at the Thunderhut. In the beginning of the game the San Marcos student section was silent. As the royals reached five points the student section shed there red colors and went to white. Then as the boys scored there tenth point the students cheered with astonishing volume.

As the game went on, both teams battled back and forth for the lead while their student sections exchanged chants. The game was close the entire time as these rivals battled it out. As the game was coming to a close, it looked like San marcos was heading to another victory until Santa Barbara tied it up and took it into overtime.

Again the battle for the lead went back and forth. San Marcos went up by two in the final seconds of the game and it again looked to be a San Marcos victory, however in the last second of the game a tremendous shot from half court by a Santa Barbara player put them up by 1 point as the game clock expired.

An unfortunate San Marcos loss. One more game is left between San Marcos High school and Santa Barbara on Tuesday February 5, 7 o’clock at Santa Barbara High so come out and show your pride by supporting our boys basketball team.
