Boys Volleyball Makes it to CIF Semifinals

The San Marcos Royals boys volleyball team has made it to the 4th round CIF semifinals after placing second in league. In their first CIF match they got off to a slow first game against the Calvary Chapel Eagles ,with the Royals losing 20-25. They came back in the next three game to take the match. The Royals won the next three games scoring 25-18, 25-20, and 25-16. Shane Hauschild and Baker Johnson led the Royals with a combined 37 kills.

In the second round CIF match the Royals took on El Segundo and defeated them in 3 games. The Royals swept El Segundo with a score of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-16. Taylor Mann helped the Royal defense with 8 blocks.

In the most recent CIF matchup against Oaks Christian School, San Marcos had its hardest match yet, barely winning each of the three games. The scores of the games were 25-19, 25-23 and the last game with the Royals barely winning with a score of 26-24. The Royals were helped by Joe Terre’s 8 digs and Christian Widmer’s 38 assists.

The Royals will take on the Number one ranked Esperanza Wednesday, May 15 in Anaheim for the semifinals.
