The sky’s usual blue is covered by a thick layer of smoke, coming from the now named White Fire. Fittingly named, the fire started at White Rock campground according to the Santa Barbara Independent. The White Fire has burned 500 acres and is spreading, it began off Paradise Road at about 2:30 pm. Areas near the disaster have been evacuated and resulted in traffic along the 154. The US Forest Service, Santa Barbara County Fire Department, and Santa Maria Fire have responded to the fire with a number of firetrucks and helicopters. Citizens hope the growth will soon cease and firefighters will soon contain the fire. Hopefully the end for the White Fire is near.
