The Girls Water Polo team was recently crowned champions of the Channel League with a nail biting victory over Santa Barbara High School. The game went into overtime with a last second shot from Santa Barbara barely sliding into the goal. However, San Marcos kept the pressure on the rival high school’s squad and came out with a win.
On Wednesday, February 19 they took on Villa Park, a high school from out of town. They faced uncertainty in how their team would matchup against them but soon found that they were winning handily. “I thought it was a really good game,“ said freshman starter Paige Hauschild. “We got to play all our starters and our substitutes so everyone got a chance.” The Royals look to their next playoff game on Saturday for the quarter final.
