Everyone has a favorite food that they enjoy. Someone may love a crisp homemade salad on a smoldering summer day, or a nice warm bowl of soup on a winter evening. There are so many foods to be enjoyed. In Cafe Royal you can learn how to use new skills and improve how you make a homemade salad and soup.

In Cafe Royal, the teacher, Chef Donna has about 15 students at most in the class, and each student has something different they like about Cafe Royal. At Cafe Royal they make lunch for 40-50 staff and teachers. Chef Donna says that making salsa is her favorite food that she gets to make at Cafe Royal.

Junior Norma Escarcega says that her favorite thing about Cafe Royal is “Learning new recipes, and learning new tools and how they are used.”

Gizelle Cazaux says that you can, “Further your skills and form meaningful relationships with the other students.” In Cafe Royal you get to work with ingredients that you may not be able to use at home.

In Cafe Royal the most popular food they make  is Spinach Burgers. Chef Donna the Cafe Royal teacher says the they are going to try to start making a vegan burger this year for the teachers and all the staff. She said that the teachers and staff love the burgers that they make.

As well as making burgers Cafe Royal makes a lot of desserts. They make brownies cookies and other sweet treats. This class is a great place to improve your cooking skills. You can learn how to make foods and learn how to use new tools.

Quinoa patties

3 cups cooking quinoa

4 large eggs, slightly beaten

1 cup bread crumbs

¾ tsp. salt

2 cups parmesan cheese. 2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp. parsley flakes

¼ cup chopped red onions

¼ cup chopped peppers.

Instructions:

Mix together and form patties, grill on high heat in olive oil.

If you want to flavor your patties differently then try experimenting with curry chipotle, garlic, Pasilla chillies.
