The hysterical and lovable TV series, Gilmore Girls, is coming back on the air. Just recently the cast has started filming four 90 minute episodes. All cast members are back, including Logan, played by Matt Czuchry, Dean, played by Jared Padalecki, and Jess, played by Milo Ventimiglia. The four shows are expected to come out in December of 2016. The original series creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, will be directing and writing the four shows with her husband and executive producer, Daniel Palladino.
The first season of Gilmore Girls was aired in October of 2000. The show had high ratings that it continued to be on the air for several more years. Throughout the show, the characters go through heartbreak and triumphant moments. Each episode is like watching the lifestyles of a close mother daughter relationship as a citizen in Storybrooke, the setting of the show. The last time the series was filmed was in May of 2007. Many famous people started their careers by being a character on Gilmore Girls such as Sookie, Lorelai’s best friend who was played by Melissa Mccarthy and Dean, Rory’s first boyfriend who was played by Jared Padalecki.
The show is set in a quaint town known as Storybrooke in the state Connecticut. The two main characters are Rory Gilmore, the daughter, and Lorelai Gilmore, the mother. They have a close bond and do everything together. At the beginning of the show, Rory started at a new prestigious high school. Her mother, Lorelai, worked as a manager at a local hotel. Throughout the show their characters developed and they worked towards their individual goals. Rory’s dream was to prepare herself enough in high school to be accepted to be Harvard. Whereas Lorelei and her best friend, Sookie, had a dream of opening their own hotel. By the end of the show their dreams were successfully completed, but the last episode did leave some unsolved questions with Rory and Lorelai’s love lives.
“I love the show Gilmore Girls because I relate closely with many of the problems Rory faces growing up and I love the actress who plays Lorelei,” said freshman Nina Shaffer. “I am most excited to see what will happen between Logan and Rory. I hope to see Luke, Lorelai, Rory, and Logan in the show and for Luke and Lorelai to finally get married.”
The four episodes length will be 90 minutes each and supposedly, from source Cinema Blend, each episode will represent one of the four calendar seasons. However it has not been confirmed yet if the shows are going to be released all at once or overtime.
“Due to the fact that Gilmore Girls ended in a cliffhanger, I think the producers wanted to share with the fans what happened to the characters,” said freshman Giorgia Lingiardi. “Having each episode being 90 minutes long and split up into the four calendar seasons is a really good idea because it will be a condensed way of showing what will happen over a year for the characters, yet it will not get into too much detail to start up more questions. I also think it preeminent to show each of the shows in the time span of a month because it will build up anticipation.”
Hopefully all of the topics that were left untouched will be answered from the four episodes. Make sure to check for updates online concerning the release of the episodes and to start marking your calendar.
