Santa Barbara Jewish Film Festival March 23-27: Once again, the Santa Barbara Jewish Film Festival has returned to Santa Barbara at the New Vic Theatre and will bring our community together by celebrating and learning about the Jewish culture through Jewish themed films. Hosted by the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa barbara, this festival will include a variety of films, each bringing a unique view of the Jewish culture to light. Genres of the movies include comedy, drama, documentary and short films by American, Israeli, and European filmmakers. Anyone from any culture and background will be able to enjoy this eye opening and fun festival!
4th annual Santa Barbara food and wine weekend April 5-7: In collaborating with the The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, the Bacara Resort & Spa is hosting their fourth annual Santa Barbara Food and Wine Weekend. Located at the Bacara Resort and Spa, this fun and food filled weekend will offer food and wine from culinary experts across the world while complimenting the distinct taste, sights and sounds of Santa Barbara.
Radiohead April 11: Radiohead is back on the road, and is returning to Santa Barbara for a once in a lifetime concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl. In addition to their performance at this year’s Coachella, Santa Barbara is one of the nine U.S. headlines on Radiohead’s latest tour. Tickets have already gone on sale and are going fast, so hurry up and order your tickets to experience this amazing event before it is too late!
Two Door Cinema Club and Grouplove April 14: Taking the road by storm, Two Door Cinema Club (TDCC) is continuing their world tour and is coming to Santa Barbara on April 14 with the alternative band Grouplove. Both bands will be showcasing their latest albums Gameshow (TDCC) and Big Mess (Grouplove), as well and singing some of their greatest hits such as “What You Know” (TDCC), “Undercover Martyn” (TDCC), “Tongue Tied” (Grouplove) and many more. This night will be a treat for anyone attending, whether they are TDCC fans, Grouplove fans or have never heard of either of the bands before. The vibes and energy both these bands produce will make anyone dance for hours and fall in love with their music again. This double band event will be the one concert all year you cannot miss.
Spring Dance Concert April 14-15: The Spring Dance Concert, hosted by the UCSB Arts & Lectures department, showcases student lighting, costume design and senior Bachelor of fine arts (BFA) students. The company will showcase two original dance numbers and one of faculty member Christina McCarthy’s new pieces before setting off on their two week European tour. The show is $17 for general admission and $13 for any UCSB staff members, faculty, and students, as well as non-UCSB students, seniors and children.
