Founding Day Festival (April 29): Celebrating 235 years since Santa Barbara’s establishment, the Founding Day Festival is a free event hosted by El Presidio de Santa Bárbara filled with live music and performances. The Founding Day Festival recognizes and honors Santa Barbara’s founding families with early California dance and music. Educational stations will also be there for anyone to learn about our town’s rich history.
Damn Yankees (May 4-13): The San Marcos Theater department has once again put together a great show for anyone to enjoy. This years’ musical, Damn Yankees, is about an elderly man who is passionate about baseball and wishes to be young enough to be a baseball player. The Devil offers him a deal to become the world’s best baseball player in exchange for his soul. When he realizes he misses his old life and asks to go back, the Devil sends him Lola, a manipulative servant of the Devil, to change his mind. The show will be performed on May 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 at 7pm, tickets are $14 for general admission, $10 for senior-citizens and students without a Royal Card and $6 for students with a Royal Card.
Scuba Diving: While this event is year round, May and and June are prime times to go scuba diving! John Legend (May 25) and Willie Nelson (April 30) at SB Bowl: The Santa Barbara Bowl is the ideal location for a concert. It is a smaller venue with nice seating and a great view of the ocean, it is the perfect place to spend an evening this spring. Performing on April 30 is Willie Nelson with special guest Maren Morris and Steve Moakler. This country filled concert will be great to spend with friends and family. SB Fair and Expo (April 26-30): For years, the Santa Barbara Fair and Expo has provided local families with days of fun, and they are back this year to deliver a “Back to the 50’s” themed fair! The Santa Barbara Fair and Expo offers live music, food, animals, games and roller coasters for the whole family to enjoy. This weekend is perfect for students needing a mid semester break or families looking for a fun way to send their Friday night. With so many activities to chose from, there is something there for everyone to enjoy. General admission tickets are $4 for children and $6 for adults.
