Holiday Movies

Holiday+Movies

Despite the way that the beginning of our year has gone, the month of December is right around the corner and one of the biggest ways to celebrate the season of winter is snuggling up to watch some seasonal movies. There are many traditional Christmas movies that you and your family can enjoy when the weather is too cold to go out. And it’s always nice to make some warm drinks and tasty snacks to go with them.

“My favorite Christmas movie is Elf,” said senior Abner Torreblanca. “I can watch it with my whole family and we can all enjoy it at the same time.”

Watching Christmas films has become a tradition with many families. It can be a way of spending time and making memories with family or with friends.

Choosing a film to watch can be difficult with so many choices. There are many Christmas movies that have become a tradition to watch every year when the weather turns cold. However, if it is difficult to choose, there are many classic movies that are popular and easy to access.

Junior Karina Coronel said that her favorite movies are the Home Alone movies, her favorite line from the film being “and keep the change ya filthy animal.”

Just like the Home Alone series, there are other famous flicks that the whole family can all enjoy. Some good examples include How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), and The Polar Express (2004).

But even this happy holiday has some films for horror fans. Movies like Krampus (2015) and Black Christmas (both 2006 and 2019) are perfect for a scary movie marathon with hot chocolate.

Christmas films are very popular, no matter what time of year it is and you can find something for everyone, family friendly, horror, or comedy to enjoy all together. So grab the popcorn and snacks, the hot cocoa, a couple of your loved ones and turn on your TV to enjoy a movie night.
