Boys Sports Overview

Boys Football:

Amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic , they started the season off strong with a 9-7 win against Cabrillo. However, in a tough channel league, boys football finished 1-4 this season. “I feel like we came into this season very strong and finished with heart,” said Senior Guard Adrian Giron. “We should expect to have strong leaders next year in Benji Rodriguez, Lance Bermudes, and a young guy, Johnny Frohling.”

Boys Track and Field

The team competed in league finals last weekend with many San Marcos athletes qualifying for CIF. The team has two weeks to prepare for the CIF Prelims on June 5th. 

Boys Baseball:

Recently, the San Marcos Royals triumphed over the Santa Barbara Dons by a score of 6-0. With that win, along with back to back wins against Cabrillo adn then Lompoc, Boys Baseball bettered its record 16-3 overall  and 10-2 in channel league. Third year pitcher and TCU commit Chase Hoover has played exceptionally well this season with a .97 era and 6 wins under his belt. 

We should look forward to the boys wrapping up channel league and possibly bringing home a title. More importantly, we should expect them to make a push for a CIF championship .

Boys Soccer:

The Boys varsity soccer team went undefeated in league with wins against rivals Dos Pueblos Chargers and Santa Barbara Dons. They finished with an overall record of 13-1-1 and a league record of 10-0-1. In the first round of the playoffs the boys faced Oxnard, where they triumphed 3-0. Unfortunately, in their match against Norwalk, their season ended in overtime where Norwalk won 5-4 in PKs. 
Boy Basketball:

Boys basketball stsrted the season off slow with three straight losses. In league, however, they finsihed undefetaed.With conference wins against Cabrillo, 63-71, and Lompoc, 79-44, the boys faced rivals Santa Barbara Dons where they triumphed 68-52 for the second time. In their second win against the Dons both John Connolly and Max Sheldon played outstanding with Sheldon finishing with 23 and Connolly 16.

Boys Lacrosse:

Boy Lacrosse is playing remarkable this season with an undefeated record in league and an overall record of 7-1. Recently, they triumphed over Dons 15-1 and the Chargers 18-4. 

Boys Tennis:

Boys Tennis also went undefeated this season with an overall record of 14-0 and a league record of 11-0.

Boys Volleyball:

Boys  volleyball finsihed second in the Channel League and beat Hart High School in the first roound of CIF playoffs. The team lost a tough match against Tesoro High School in the second round of the CIF playoffs
Boys Golf
Boys golf had a 15-0 regular season and are moving forward with hopes of winning CIF. 

Boys Wrestling

Boys wrestling won league for the first time in  48 years with a record of 5-0. They are preparing to compete in CIF.

Boys Swim and Dive

Boys Swim and Dive won the Channel League with a league record of 5-0. They lost a nonleague mathcup to Harvard-Westlake.
