The San Marcos Choirs are nearly as old as the school itself. With four choirs, Girls Chorus, Enchante, Acapella, and Madrigals, the department is able to make quality music far beyond their age. For their second performance of the year, all four Choirs are working together to put on their annual Christmas Concert: Deck the Halls!

“My favorite part about Madrigals is the community. The community is so strong, it allows us to perform pieces that we are thrilled to share,” said sophomore Marilee Larnad, Madrigals member.

The Concert will be on December 14 at 7:00, taking place in the Trinity Episcopal Church, located in Santa Barbara. It is recommended to buy tickets ahead of time on GoFan.com but they can also be bought at the window if they do not sell out. General admission is $12 and students as well as children are $5.

“We prepare all kinds of songs; Christmas songs, general winter songs, Hannakuah songs,” said Sophomore Hannah Henderson, a member of San Marcos Choirs Acapella and Enchante. “It is going to be a lot of winter fun. We focus on classical songs but we do some modern pop songs as well.”

“I think the one that is probably going to be the crowd favorite and the highest energy song is deck the halls,” said freshman and Acapella member Aaron White. “It’s not the lame choralling, boring version, it’s kind of up beat and hype version. There are a lot of cool vocal parts that go with each other. It is really fun and high energy.”

Ms. Pantagas, the choir department director, is overjoyed that the choirs are able to perform in person for their holiday season, after a year of complications.

“Come and get your holiday cheer fix!” said Ms. Pantagas, the choir director.

Go support our Roaring Royals, hear beautiful music, and get in the Christmas spirit at this year’s Christmas Choir Concert!
