UFC is a mixed martial arts; a full-contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills. The rules allow the usage of both striking and grappling techniques while standing and on the ground. Competitions allow athletes of different backgrounds to compete. Following the lockdown from COVID-19, president Dana White of the association decided to never end up shutting down production. This increased viewership through the pandemic and shined a new light on the sport. Increasing viewership by more than one million.

One of the biggest rivalries in the UFC is Colby Covington VS Kamaru Usman, and it all started in a postgame interview where after Colby Covington won in his fight.  Where Kamaru Usman  one of the hosts, questioned Usman because he was out injured and in Usman’s words, “well first congratulations on this fight, but your talking a lot and when did your b*ll’s drop?”

Covington’s words back, “Stop faking injuries, you were out for eight months with a hernia injury. It takes six weeks to recover. We are going to fight in the octagon.”

This fight is exactly what occurred on August 3rd, 2019. Then, a few months later on December 14th of 2019 they fought and went five rounds. Usman won and had Colby on the ground.

The ref waved it off and in the post game interview after the fight, Usman said “This is not for me this is for the entire world. The reason why I’m best in the division is because my mind is stronger than everyone in my division.” He also broke Covington’s jaw.

Then in September of 2020 when there was another interview with Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman, Colby said “You got so lucky last time. You know what happened to days before, that was the biggest worst fight of my life and your best fight, next time there won’t be fake cheap shots or fake eye poking”

Kamaru Usman said in response “I broke your face.”

“Just wait till I see you next time Marty fake newsmen your dead, your dead we got unfinished business.”

Colby Covington vs. Kamaru Usman match two: their fight went five rounds again and Usman won again. They both made around 1.5 million dollars from this match alone.

Dana White, President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, opinion on the Usman vs. Covington fight was “If there was no Usman Covington would be the champion but Usman is just the best ever. He is the best welterweight of all time, and he is on his way to go to goat status and Colby Covington is one tough dude he is so tuff”

Usman is talking about trying to fight Canelo. He thinks it would make a lot of money because the best pound-for-pound boxer versus the best pound pound UFC fighter. He said it will be better than the McGregor vs Mayweather fight and draw a lot of attention. Dana White’s thoughts about this is that no one wants to fight Canelo, he is the best boxer right now. Dana also said that if Canelo wants to come over to the UFC then that would be better.

Even  said, “I don’t think he would come over here.”
