Winter Fashion

Winter fashion is becoming more evident as the seasons transition from fall to winter. With the current fashion trends, there is no reason you shouldn’t be looking your absolute best this 2022-2023 winter season.

The top three women’s fashion trends this winter are: Ugg’s, knee high boots, and chunky knit sweaters.

With the comeback of Ugg boots this winter, they are seen being worn comfortably, while still being stylish. Some favorite styles include the “Mini,” “Ultra Mini,” and the “Tasman Slippers.” They can be seen all around campus today, and likely even more so returning from winter break. Senior Leila Joyce says, “I love my uggs because they feel like my bed on my feet.”

Classic knee high boots are back and are expected to be another winter wardrobe staple. Whether you prefer a classic square toe, leather boot, or high platform, the knee-high can be styled many ways. A chunky block heel paired with a black midi dress and a blazer, sleek pointed stiletto boots with leather pants, or a leather knee high with tights and a sweater, are all ways to elevate your look. Major celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Hailey Beiber, and Emma Chamberlain have all already been seen wearing these boots this winter, as they tap into the revival of 90’s fashion.

Chunky knit sweaters are all the rave this chilly season, and come in a range of styles. Traditional winter neutrals remain fashionable, while pops of pre-spring pastels make their way into this year’s favorites. Knits can be found with different necklines, including turtlenecks, scoops, and off the shoulder. Layer a chunky sweater over a collared button down, or pair an oversized cardigan with a mini skirt for the classic fall uniform. Not only does this trend come in a variety of styles, but also price points. Although they can be bought at higher end and luxurious stores, you can still obtain this look on a budget. Shop at stores like Revolve or House of Sunny for a higher end item, or find a one-of-a-kind knit at your local thrift store.

Look to magazines like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar to keep up with the latest fashion trends and for inspiration on how to evolve your own personal style.
