On Saturday, October 11th, all royals are invited to celebrate a lantern-lit night evening of fun. The event will take place on our outdoor basketball courts, which will be decorated with a “Gleam and Glow- a lantern lit sky” theme.
Prior to the event, there will be a few fun events to help fundraiser money for the big dance. For instance, there will be a Tangled movie night in the Greek Theater, similar to The Summer I Turned Pretty’s finale showing.
“We will also have a make-your-own lantern crafting event,” said ASB Treasurer, Carolina Kostrzewa. “These lanterns will eventually be hung up as decor at the dance!”
Due to its Tangled-based glowy theme, decorations for the events will consist of lots of sparkling lights and dark silky backdrops. At the door, royals will be given two red tickets that can be used at the different delicious food options that will be hosted, such as Kona Ice and Dave’s Dogs.
If you are looking for dress inspiration to match the theme, there are many great ways you can do this! For instance, try purple-shades to match Rapunzel, or yellow to blend in with the lanterns. Shades such as lavender, violet, butter, and gold are perfect! You can find beautiful dresses in colors like this on websites such as Beginning Boutique or Lucy in the Sky. Another great way to match the theme is by purchasing a silky satin dress. Some websites that have beautiful satin gowns are Princess Polly, Amazon, Windsor. You can also sometimes find beautiful dresses at local thrift stores or boutiques.
Tickets for the magical night can be purchased online or at the business window. They will be 35 for students with royal cards, 55 for off campus guests, and 45 for general admission. They will begin going on sale Monday, September 29th.
The night before the big dance is our big Homecoming game, against Santa Paula High School. We hope to see you there, royals!
