Lights, Camera, Talent! Royals Got Talent

As the curtains rise and the spotlight beckons, students from all grades will walk into the Marquis Performing Arts Center for the event of the year. San Marcos ASB presents Royals Got Talent 2024, a showcase of the stars on Thursday, March 21 from 7-9pm. It will be a night where we will celebrate all of our Royal’s unique talents they have to offer and one you will not want to miss.

Every year, San Marcos ASB puts on a talent show available for the whole school to audition, and this year there will be twelve musical performances from all grades–ranging from singing to dancing–competing to impress this year’s judges. If they are able to impress them, three acts will move on to the second round, performing another act to determine a final winner. As the judges change every year, this year’s judging panel will be starring teachers; Delanie Medina, Paul Hiracheta, Taylor Karst, and Frank Koroshec.

Judge Medina, when asked about judging the upcoming event, said, “I’m super excited to see all of the acts and I’m sure they will all be amazing because San Marcos students are all so talented.” She went and said, “This is a great opportunity for them to showcase all that they are capable of.”

And one of the contestants, senior, Jacob Medina, said this “It’s senior year and you gotta get out of your comfort zone and let people know it’s okay to be yourself.”

According to San Marcos ASB, in building a strong school community, it is important to come together to celebrate students and their talents. ASB has been working hard on bringing the most fun, engaging, and inclusive events to help transform the school and this is a prime example of such.
