San Marcos Swim and Dive sweeps Buena in their recent Channel League meet. This past Wednesday was a big win for the Royals, dominating Buena 118 to 46.5 on the girls side and 105 to 59 for the boy’s victory.

On the girls side of the pool, they took first place in all 11 or their events. Athletes such as juniors, Sierra Tallman and Taylor Steelman, secured first place in multiple events. All while on the boys side of the pool, they also took first place in all the events. Sophomore, Benjamin Caputo won two events with great success.

Junior, Kian Strenn said “We were a little nervous at the beginning as DP had barely beaten them, but we were confident and locked in.”

Franklin Jaramilla, another junior at San Marcos, agreed saying “The meet was good, we destroyed Buena. Kian Strenn did well, as well as Connor Jenson coming off an injury.”

The swim team has a big meet at Mount SAC this weekend that Strenn says he is very excited for. A lot of personal records were made during the meet, with Strenn getting three PRs. “We are confident going into the end of the season. We have dominated the channel league for the past twenty years. I think we got it, we seem very locked in, and we’re ready for the end of the season,” concludes Strenn. Keep it up Royals!
