Girls Lacross battle against Dos Pueblos

The San Marcos Royals Girls Lacrosse team beat the Dos Pueblos Chargers in a 18-7 home game yesterday evening. The Royals took an early lead scoring three times in the first three minutes of the first 12-minute quarter. During the remaining nine minutes, both teams had an additional two goals, with the quarter ending 5-2

When halftime came around, the Royals had doubled their lead to six goals with a score of  9-3 by scoring four consecutive goals over the course of the second quarter.

“We were able to play at a fast cohesive pace the whole time,” said San Marcos junior Sadi Adams, who scored six of the Royals’ 18 goals. “Today especially was a whole team effort, I saw everybody going for the ground balls and everybody putting in 100%.”

“I think my highlight of the game was seeing everybody operate at such a high level consistently,” said Adams.

In the third quarter, San Marcos made an additional five goals while Dos Pueblos made just one.

With the score going into the final part of the game being 14-4, the Chargers started off strong with the first two goals of the final quarter of game but the Royals responded with another three. Each team finished off the game with one last goal, to result in a final score of 18-7.

The Royals have already clinched the Channel League title and maintain their undefeated league record as they are now 9-0. With only two losses this season, their overall record is 15-2.
