The Royals girls flag football team easily took care of business on both sides of the ball this last Wednesday at home. The royals held the saints to zero points the entirety of the game, shutting Santa Maria out with an impressive 59-0 win over four quarters. Leading the charge for the royals was their defense, tallying six interceptions as a whole. Two of these interceptions even led to points on the board for San Marcos. (Two pick-sixes).
“We talked a lot about getting off to a fast start and the girls responded to that especially on the defensive side of the ball,” said San Marcos girls flag football head coach, Coach Baz.
The defense led to offense for the royals as they had no worry scoring on the other side of the ball in an all around team effort.
“The defensive play we had made the offense easier for us.” Coach Baz added on.
The royals flag football team improves to 2-0 on the season and is scheduled to play in a 2 weekend tournament that starts in Camarillo on Saturday. Go Royals!
