With Freshman Government Elections right around the corner, it is important to get to know your candidates. Your presidential candidates are Jada Ahmad, Keira Yonemura, Dalilah Arias Garcia, and Griffin Kossen. Your people running for Vice President are Dashel Diraison, Keilani Pozos, and Kaylee Smith. Then, your Treasurer candidates are Kenna Mabery and Gus Cooper. Last but not least your Secretary candidate is Violette Alcantar-Toral.Here a look into some of the Freshman ASB candidates.
The first person interviewed was Presidential candidate Griffin Kossen. When questioned why someone should vote for him, he says, “I have a lot of experience being a leader in the community.”
Griffin has over 1000 hours in community service, he has helped fundraising for multiple foundations, and he recently got his black belt in aikido. Griffin also says he has, “multiple years in ASB.”
The next person interviewed was Presidential candidate Kiki Yonemura. When she was asked “Why should people vote for you,” she said, “I will listen to your ideas and actually put them into action.” She was also ASB president at her junior high.
Finally the last person interviewed was Treasurer candidate Gus Cooper. He was asked “Why should people vote for you,” in response he said, “I will use the money in the best of ways, and I will always be there whenever people need me.”
Now that you know more about some of your candidates and have heard the names of many more, it is up to you to decide who to cast your vote for. Go Royals!
