Halloween is just around the corner; what better place is there to visit than our local pumpkin patch? Just a three minute drive away from San Marcos High School lies the Lane Farm Pumpkin Patch. The Lane family has been farming in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area since 1868. They grow about 30 different items, but specialize in lettuce, corn, strawberries, tomatoes, squashes, and pumpkins, all of which can be purchased at their produce stand. This October, the pumpkin patch is stocked with more pumpkins than ever, of all different shapes and sizes.
“I visit the Lane Farm Pumpkin Patch every year with my family. At this point, it has become a fun holiday tradition. I’m visiting this year with a few of my friends. I’m looking forward to the corn maze and picking out the perfect pumpkin to take home and carve with my family,” said sophomore Taylor Escola.
Visit Lane Farms this spooky season before October 31st to experience all the fun activities around the farm. Monday through Friday, the farm is open from noon to seven, and Saturday and Sunday it is open from ten in the morning to 5 at night. Have fun solving their difficult corn maze, enjoy the hay rides around the property, meet and feed their pigs and goats, and pick out your favorite pumpkin to take home and carve with your friends and family!
