As the full moon begins to rise and as the spirits begin to find their way back on earth. Halloween is on its way. The one holiday of the year that comes with the colorful leaves of fall, candy, and costumes. On average, the typical American spends around $29.60 on Halloween costumes; however, America itself spends typically $3.8 billion dollars on Halloween costumes each year. Therefore, if you’re planning on going to a Halloween party, trick or treating, or just having a small get together with friends here are some fun, trendy, unique, simple and inexpensive Halloween costumes that will impress anyone that you see this Halloween. When Interviewed about Halloween, Senior Chris Castillo states, “The costumes are my favorite part about Halloween.”
Couples Costumes:
For our couples, picking a Halloween costume can be difficult. First and foremost, there’s the fact of having to consider a variety of different options. Whether it’s from a movie, meme, Tv show, pop culture reference, or a joke. Both people have to agree on what to wear and what not to wear. To ease your stress here are a variety of different options to try and make the final decision a little easier.
- Max and Roxanne from The Goofy Movies: Max and Roxanne are easily one of the most iconic Disney cartoon couples of the early 2000’s. This costume can easily be done with a green shirt and shorts/jeans for Roxanne. As for Max all you need is a long sleeve black shirt to layer underneath a red shirt and there you go.
- Patrick and Kat from 10 Things I Hate About You: Patrick and Kat are one of the most beloved rom com couples of the early 2000’s for our generation now making them an insanely iconic and a fun reference. For this costume you could go a numerous of different ways, such as the iconic paintball jumper by ordering two plain white jumpers and splattering paint on them. Or you could go a more aesthetic way and put something together on your own by gathering the overall style for the both of them.
- Lightning McQueen and Sally from Cars: Cars being one of the most loved Disney/Pixar movies ever, this Halloween costume only seemed fitting. For Lightning McQueen all you need is a red shirt, jeans, and a red hat of some sort. For Sally you need a light blue shirt/top as well as either jeans or a blue skirt and then you’re done.
Duos/Trios Costumes
Halloween is one of the best holidays because it means you get to dress up as anything you want and you can even dress up with your best friends. For our best friends we of course have our dynamic duos and our iconic trios.
- Mario and Luigi From Super Mario: Of course we had to include Mario and Luigi. They are one of the most iconic duos in video game history as well as being a very simple costume. For the both of them you just need overalls, a red and green shirt, a mustache, and a hat.
- Bruno Mars 24k: This was such an iconic music video that came out during our childhoods for the most part and to this day is still one of the best music videos to exist. All you need are red pajamas with shirts a white hat and a gold chain and you’re done. A perfectly easy and iconic costume.
- Alvin and the Chipmunks: The most iconic trios to ever exist and who definitely shaped the majority of our childhoods. This costume could be made up in many different ways. If you want to wear hoodies, shirts, crop tops, or knit sweaters it is your choice. This costume is so easy because it is so versatile and you could be as extra as you like. You could give yourself a chipmunk nose, ears, anything you want.
- Minions and Gru: This costume could easily be for a trio, duo or a whole group. Not only is this costume hilarious but it is also a simple one to out together. You can genuinely go as crazy as you want to. However, all you need is a yellow shirt, overalls, and some form of goggles or glasses for the minions. For Gru you need a black coat or jacket of some kind, a scarf, and a prosthetic nose.
Solo Costumes:
If you aren’t planning on dressing up with your friends or in a group here are some fun, trendy, and iconic costumes to do if you’re dressing up solo this Halloween.
1.Where’s Waldo: This costume is simple and easy as well as being iconic. It is a staple from most of our childhoods by being such a nostalgic book character. For this costume you need a red and white striped shirt/sweater as well as a red and white striped beanie with black framed glasses.
- Adam Sandler: Dressing as Adam Sandler isn’t just an iconic costume but also an easy and simple costume if you want to dress up for school but not go all out. With a baggy shirt, basketball shorts, a backwards hat, and glasses you’re good to go.
- Princess Diaries: Dressing up as Mia Thermpoulous for Halloween is such an iconic move. Princess Diaries is such a beloved film and Mia Thermopulous is such an amazing character to dress up as. All you need is a white dress of some sort, white gloves, sun glasses, earbuds, and a tiara.
Planning a halloween costume doesn’t have to be stressful nor expensive. In order to put one together you just have to get creative.
