While Crumbl Cookies have always been famous (with people posting reviews on social media platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat) it became even more popular within the San Marcos community after opening its Calle Real location just over a year ago. This now allowed students to personally taste-test the cookies themselves. The Kings Page is back this week with another review of 6/8 cookies of the week, excluding Pink Velvet Cake and Peanut Butter.
The first cookie under review is Mint Sandwich. This giant dessert is made of two Oreo cookies with a mint flavored filling. In previous weeks, Crumbl has made double decker cookies like this, only with vanilla icing instead. The mint icing however tasted (and had the same texture as) toothpaste. The gross filling made the cookie get a 4/10.
Next is Milk Chocolate Chip. You can depend on finding this cookie, or a cookie very similar to it, every week. It is warm, delicious, and classic. However, for some reason it didn’t taste the same last week. Maybe they changed their recipe, but last week the cookie got a 5/10. Usually, it would get an 8/10 though.
Third is Churro. Churro was one of the better cookies in the box. It had a sweet cinnamon buttercream icing and a cinnamon base. It was delicious and received a 10/10. It reminded us a lot of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cookie that Crumbl had back in early August.
Fourth is Lemon Cheesecake. I was surprised to love this one since I don’t like cheesecake at all. The cookie was chilled and had a strong lemon flavor in the curd icing. The cookie was refreshing and got a 9/10, the 1 point being deducted because it was quite rich.
Second to last is the Oatmeal Skillet cookie. The base consisted of an oatmeal cookie that had an indent in the middle where a scoop of mousse was put, drizzled in caramel. I love caramel and it felt like there wasn’t enough of its flavor. The cookie was good, but the fluffy mousse was not for me. It kind of tasted like eating plain butter with a cookie underneath it. The cookie was still good though and got a 6/10.
Lastly is Confetti cake. I love confetti and think it is so fun and will spice up anything. The cookie wasn’t too sweet and we found it to be delicious. The only downside is it tasted a bit bland. There wasn’t really anything special to the cookie, but it certainly wasn’t bad, I just feel like there are cheaper alternatives. We granted the cookie a 7/10.
In conclusion, while this week did have good cookies, I feel it was sort of a hit-or-miss and Crumbl has had better weeks.
