College Football Season Begins

Staff Writer

The 2021 college Football season is upon us, and boy, have us fans been waiting for the return of college football. This season is featuring the return of full stadiums, full-length schedule, out of conference, and many more. To start the college football season this year, the number one ranked team is Alabama. After winning the Championship last year they are looking to repeat this year. The 2nd ranked team is the Oklahoma Sooners who are led by redshirt sophomore Spencer Rattler, one of the top Heisman favorites. The 3rd ranked team is the Clemson Tigers, who are led by sophomore DJ Uiagalelei after number one overall pick Trevor Lawrence finished his college career last season. Other notable teams returning to the top 25 after good seasons last year are the Cincinnati Bearcats at number 8, coastal Carolina at 22, and Louisiana at 23.

“I am excited to see Wisconsin try and make a push for the college football playoffs and see all the stadiums full again,” said sophomore Wisconsin fan Ian Burnett. “I think Wisconsin will be a top 10 team, I think they will have a good chance at the college football playoffs, we have a good receiving core and a young quarterback and an outside chance at the college football playoffs.”

Wisconsin is another sleeper team this year with an outside shot of making the college football playoffs if they win all of their games.

“I am most excited for all the new players I get to see in action and to see who wins the Hesiman trophy award.” Said sophomore Jed Greenwald. “I think Stanford will do great this year, and I’m excited to see all the new and returning players.”

Stanford is looking to try and bounce back from a couple rough seasons. Along with Stanford, the Pac 12 is trying to prove their worth this year. Since the college football playoffs began the Pac 12 has only had two teams make it. Oregon in 2014 and Washington in 2016. They are getting tested this year to end the five year drought and have a team make the playoffs to prove that the Pac 12 is still a strong conference.

College football begins this week, tune in to see how the season plays out and who wins the championship.
