Uncharted is the newest movie to stream this week. If you have not played the video games or at least the fourth one in the installment: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. You won’t entirely get what this movie is about. This latest film stars Tom Holland as Nathan Drake; and Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. 

The two primary antagonists are Santiago Moncada (played by Antonio Banderas) and Braddock (played by Tati Gabrielle). These two antagonists in this motion picture want one thing and it is the same as Nathan and Victor. Both of them have very distinct personalities and this is what draws the viewers in and captures their interest to watch more. To know if they get defeated or if they get away with it. 

This whole film demonstrates the relationship between how young Nathan became the Nathan Drake he is now. In the first few minutes of the film, this young drake was portrayed by Tiernan Jones and Rudy Pankow as young Sam. This feature film has spectacular translation scenes. For example, after the first scene finishes it transitions to Tom Holland in his young adult form of Nathan Drake in a bus. Furthermore, this movie has great graphics and how it is set up perfectly. A sample of this such job is on the plane scene and how Tom Holland is representing falling off of the plane trying not to fall and die. These scenes such as the graphics and transition have lots of impact on how the whole film is viewed. And how the viewers are looking at it in their overall perspective. 

One of my dislikes about this motion picture is that in the first thirty minutes it does not show many action scenes. It had a dull beginning that was not interesting. 

As well as a dull beginning it also had a poor acting job and not explaining in detail what is happening and why they are doing this in the first place. In addition, I disliked that Chloe Frazer (played by Sophia Ali) did not get that much screen time at the end of the film. She was an important character and should have stayed till the end. Subsequently, another disapproval about this film is that they took out some of the moments of the video game and made it more simple to crunch the time with one hour and fifty-seven minutes. This entire movie was not that exhilarating to watch and much better to play the game. 

“Saw it last night and I have to say, I was really surprised. As someone who essentially grew up with the game, the nostalgic factor was a really good thing which helped one up the movie. The story being a mix of all the uncharted games makes it underwhelming and hard for the audience to really click with the movie but that’s expected since you can’t really get the same engagement from a 30+ hour game from a movie. But, the movie tries it’s best and I’d say it works in a way. Tom doesn’t quite capture the essence of Nate’s character but he does deliver a good performance which I have to say exceeded my expectations. Sully’s character was a lot flawed in a lot of ways but Wahlberg gives his character a moment here and there which at times clicks really well. The action sequences are really cool and just doesn’t bore you in anyways and the movie is a fairly nice watch and is one of the better video game movies made in my opinion,” voiced a google film reviewer Han Swolo, a critic on this film and gave it a ⅗ review on google.

Overall I would say this film is decent but not extraordinary. My personal rating would be a ⅗. Go support the theaters and the actors by watching the movie in the cinema.
