New York Fashion Week is arguably one of the most important events in the Fashion World. But if you’re not a famous Fashion Editor, Photographer, Celebrity, or Influencer it’s quite hard to attend any big events. So here’s an overview from seeing videos and posts on some of the big moments of the week.

For Fall 2022, Tia Adeola kicked off the season with its Renaissance-inspired, feathered collection with a cameo from rapper Flo Milli, who wore a yellow knitted tank and leggings set adorned with ruffles on the runway. This led the way for many other celebrity appearances that were not only them in the front rows viewing from the sidelines but also surprise catwalks. With names such as Julia Fox in the LaQuan Smith show wearing a black long-sleeve maxi dress and a pair of metallic boots, Chloe Cherry who wore a lavender knitted jacket with fur shoulders, along with a pair of boy shorts and matching black pumps, and Parris Goebel covered in sequence during The Blonds show.

On the sidelines of this show we see quite a diverse array of celebrities. Many are from the hit show Euphoria, such as Angus Cloud (Fez) sitting front and center for Coach’s Fall 2022 Runway, and Tik Tok Famous Addison Rae wearing a leather LBD at Michael Kors Collection. Other celebrities include Blake Lively, Emily Ratajkowski, Madelain Petsch, Amanda Seyfried, Tan France, plus A-list artists such as Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion.

This packed schedule in the bustling city held more than 300 shows that were attended by 230,000 visitors in 7-9 days and generated over 900 million dollars for the city’s economy yearly. Though out of the many shows that occured, many big brand names you’d recognize held them.

Notable fashion brands that took part in the week’s event are Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler, Christian Siriano, Brandon Maxwell, and many more. Though there were also many who did not partake in the festivities such as Tom Ford, Thom Browne, Monse and Rodarte.

This bi-annual event of runway shows and presentations used to highlight designers’ collections for the next fashion season, is so remarkable and fun for those in the fashion industry, and a part of its realm in the world, like everyday consumers and for press to review it and for buyers to place orders. Many American designers will continue to take orders from buyers in London, Milan and Paris. It is always fun to see designers come together, share their work, and get us excited about the near future in fashion!
