A New Year and a new you! And this year, we’re planning to stick to our resolutions. Here at San Marcos, many students have many different resolutions. For example, freshman Jolie Mardiat, whose resolution is to prioritize her family relationships, Maddie Aigner is to become healthier physically and mentally. But if you are still unsure of some and want to try something new or change up your lifestyle, you should check these out!
- Write down one thing you are grateful for each night.
End the night with gratitude! Count your blessings instead of sheep at night. It might help you feel better when you go to sleep.
- Talk to yourself with kindness.
We aim to be nice to others but then criticizes ourselves. Make sure also to be kind to yourself. It might even help you be more considerate to others in the long run too!
- Let go of some grudges.
It is a new year, so stop holding onto those things that will not help you.
- Buy less plastic
Helping our environment comes from all of us. This year we should all try and reduce our carbon footprint and buy less plastic.
- Donate the clothes you don’t wear
I believe that 2020 opened our eyes to how fortunate some of us are, and donating is one of many ways to give back to our community.
- Write down your goals.
Writing down your goals helps create a vision in your mind of how you want to be in the future. When we see something clearly, it changes how we act as we have clarity and directions.
- Set daily goals
Setting up these mini daily goals will make completing them feel more rewarding and possibly make you want to achieve even more goals.
- Read
Even though reading is required for several classes, it’s also important to read anything else you like. Reading has so many benefits! Here’s a Kings Page article about some books you should try if you want to start this new year with a new book: Kailey’s Good Reads
- Get more organized
Even if it’s just color coordinating your files in Notability, organizing your files will also help you focus on what you need to get done.
- Prioritize your health
This year and more than ever, it is essential to stay healthy and keep your body safe. This year make sure to take care of yourself and treat your body with kindness.
