As San Marcos students have gotten back into the groove of the school year there has been one thing missing: Football Games!
This Friday, August 30th, the first home varsity football home game will take place at 7pm. The first home game of the year will be against Beckmann high school. In total there will be five home football games throughout the football season.
The football game is free for students with a Royal Card and is 5 dollars for all other students. Like all San Marcos home football games, it will take place at Warkentin stadium.
“Since Covid we as a school and especially ASB have been focused on bringing back school spirit even stronger than it was before. We have been trying to create a school environment where people are excited to go to school even after hours. Royals show up for the football game today!” Said ASB President Kian Strenn.
The theme for the game this week is jungle; students are encouraged to wear outfits that match the theme. For example: leopard print, camo print, greens, etc..
Not only is this game exciting as it is the first one of the 2024-2025 school year, but afterwards there will be a PGP (post-game party). The PGP will begin immediately after the football game. All San Marcos students are welcome to attend. If you have a royal card or you dress for the theme you can get in free, otherwise it costs five dollars.
This is the first PGP of the year and it may be the last. ASB is interested in trying to get a second PGP organized but as of now, the only PGP scheduled for this year is tonight.
Make sure to come out and support boys varsity football tonight as well as attend the first PGP of the year!
