Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet album dropped on August 23, 2024. It quickly rose to the top of the charts, hitting #1 immediately after its debut, marking her first number one album to date. Three singles off the album, “Espresso,” “Please, Please, Please” and “Taste” shot to the top of the U.S Billboard Global 200 chart, all staying at the top for three consecutive weeks, springing Carpenter into stardom.
Following the release of this hit album, Sabrina announced her highly anticipated Short n’ Sweet Tour which began on September 23, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio. There are a total of 47 shows taking place in both the United States and Europe. Her show runs for about an hour and a half with theatrical, vibrant sets, glamorous, glittering costumes, and of course passionate fans in the audience screaming every lyric with her. She is accompanied by special guests Amaarae, Griff, and Declan McKenna as her opener artists.
The show consists of 21 songs as well as a surprise song off of the Short n’ Sweet album, as well as a few songs from her 2022 album, emails i can’t send. She begins with “Taste,” one of the most popular songs from her new album, followed by “Good Graces” and a hit from emails i can’t send called “Tornado Warnings,” blending upbeat pop with a slow, lyrical piece. She continues her set with “Slim Pickins,” “Lie to Girls,” and “Bed Chem.”
“I am the most excited to hear ‘Taste’ and ‘Good Graces’ because they’re going to be really fun to dance to and I know all of the words to both of them,” said San Marcos Senior Caroline Barrios, who will be attending the concert in November.
Sabrina throws in a surprise song element to the tour as well. Following “Coincidence,” she plays a classic party game of spin the bottle. She spins the bottle which lands on one of four surprise songs: “Mamma Mia” by Abba, “That Don’t Impress Me Much” by Shania Twain, “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer, or “Material Girl” by Madonna. Fans love this aspect of the concert as they are timeless classics everyone knows.
The Short n’ Sweet Tour will continue until March 2025. Sabrina will make stops throughout the U.S including Arizona, California, Washington, and Oregon as well as internationally in Ireland, France, The Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, and Germany. She stopped by close to home, performing in Los Angeles at the Crypto Arena on November 15th as well as the Kia Forum on November 17th and 18th. Her glittering, energetic concert has been a major success and Carpenter has definitely stepped into stardom with Short n’ Sweet.
