Hello Royals:
When the editors of the King’s Page asked me to write my final piece for the Dr’s Corner, I was very grateful to have this opportunity to speak with you directly.
When I first became the Principal of this amazing school, my goal was to do everything that I can to celebrate the positive aspects of San Marcos. I had no idea that I would become the #PandemicPrincipal before my first year was over, and the challenges that we have experienced together have been simply extraordinary.
Please know that it has been my honor and privilege to serve you as your principal. I will always remember San Marcos fondly. As I say my final goodbye to all of you, I want to share an Irish blessing with you. I wish that:
However, I only want to remember all the wonderful and happy moments that I have experienced with our Royal such as athletic contests, plays, shows, and on-campus events. As Gandhi once said, I worked hard to “[k]eep my words positive. [Because w]ords become my behaviors…Behaviors become my habits…Habits become my values…Values become my destiny.”
Lucky stars above you,
Sunshine on your way,
Many friends to love you,
Joy in work and play.
Laughter to outweigh each care,
In your heart a song,
And gladness waiting everywhere
All your whole life long.
Thank you, Royal, from the bottom of my heart!
With deepest gratitude,
Dr. Glazer
