On Saturday April 25th, The Royal Pride Foundation hosted their annual Royal Ball. This event was a combination of celebration and donation in support of the Royal Pride Foundation and San Marcos’ development.
As a last-minute turn of events, a clear tent was set up on Friday because of the possibility of rain, but despite this setback, the ball was an incredible success with approximately $250,000 raised for San Marcos, a record-breaking amount for this event.
A highlight of the night was the celebration of leaders who embody what it means to have royal pride. Stacey and Ryan Fell received the Forever Royal Award for their long-term commitment, dedication, kindness, and support to San Marcos students and the community. Frann Wageneck received the Royal Pride Inspiration Award for her lasting impact on SMHS.

Other members of the benefit community were also recognized, including Liz Obrien, Dana Rock, Michael Matheson, Amy Mognis, and Michele Voigt. The director of the Royal Pride Foundation, Karen Callanan, was also recognized alongside the event planner Emily Greig.

14 San Marcos ASB students volunteered at the event to help sell raffle tickets, organize parking, and assist with the paddle raise.
“The Royal Ball was a great event and it ended up being very successful! I had a great time volunteering and celebrating our donors!” said ASB member River Fernandez.
The funds raised through the royal ball will go towards improving San Marcos’ many student-centered programs through technology upgrades, campus beautification and programs to help students meet their basic needs, like the Royal Care closet which provides students in need with clothing, personal hygiene items and other necessities.
The 2026 Royal Ball was an incredible success, marking the strengthening and improvement of the San Marcos community as a whole.
