As the beginning of the school year progresses, freshmen need leaders who will continue the legacy of all the classes that have come before them. Luckily, this year we have four wonderful freshmen running to be a freshman class officer. The four running are: Meadow Sullivan for President, Vee Todoroff for Vice President, Lucy Larson for Secretary, and Bodhi Ratliffe for Treasurer.
The first candidate, Meadow Sullivan, is running for president. Even though she did not have any competitors this year, Meadow showed up with a speech ready to win over the audience anyway. She managed to say so many inspiring things in a short amount of time about how students should feel welcome, feel joyful about coming to school, and always carry school spirit with them wherever they go.
Meadow has what it takes to be a leader, and she sums it up best when she says, “I want to show everyone what a true role model should look like, and prove to myself and all of you that I will be the best freshman class president possible.”
So, make sure to follow along with the changes that Meadow has to offer the freshmen class, because she is the future of ASB at this school.
The next candidate running is Vee Todoroff, as Vice President. Vee had a wonderful speech that was bursting with confidence and wisdom. Truly, her words could bring together a whole audience, and that’s just what she did.
Vee makes it clear that she is and will be a great leader when she says, “As Vice President, I’ll make sure that your ideas are heard, whether it’s about dances, spirit days, or ways to make school events more fun. I want us to be able to make school events more fun. I want us to be able to be proud of our class and the energy that we bring.”
If you have any doubts or questions, I’m sure Vee will be happy to answer them and reassure you that she is a confident, kind, and worthy leader of her class.
The second-to-last candidate is Bodhi Ratliffe for Treasurer. Bodhi showed great character by standing up in front of his class. His speech was thoughtful and well-prepared to show this school that he’s the right candidate for the job.
Bodhi puts his strengths into words beautifully when he says, “My goal in this position is to make our freshman year the most welcoming and memorable it can be. I will ensure I do the best I can to achieve this because I want everyone to feel included in our school community.”
Overall, Bodhi is a promising candidate for the position of treasurer and will be a wonderful addition to the ASB team.
Finally, the last candidate is Lucy Larson for Secretary. Lucy brought a lot of energy to her speech and showed her class why she is the best person for the position. She seems extremely excited about this opportunity to contribute to the school.
The end of her speech wraps up her school spirit and excitement perfectly when she says, “I am so excited to move forward into this year with an amazing freshman ASB committee and class. I am running unopposed, but you should vote for me because I’m motivated to help benefit our class. Go Royals!”
Just like Lucy said, she’s running unopposed, but she is still an exceptional candidate for the position.
All together, it’s looking optimistic for the freshman class. These leaders seem motivated and ready to take on whatever challenges face them in this position. Make sure to support your new leaders if you’re a freshman, and help mentor them if you’re an upperclassman. These freshmen are the future leaders of our school, and it’s important to show them the ropes of high school leadership in whatever ways possible, so that they can continue to improve our school for future generations.
