College Football Playoffs

The 2021-2022 college football season has come to an end, and we have had our 2021-2022 national champion. The Georgia Bulldogs are now the national champions after defeating Alabama 33-18 in the national championship game. The national championship game was a defensive battle with one of the best defenses of all time prevailing for Georgia. Georgia’s defense only allowed 18 points and caused the Hesiman winner Bryce Young to have a rough game, he threw for 363 yards and 1 touchdown but had 2 interceptions. On the very last game he also threw a game ending pick six to seal the game for Georgia. Alabama also had some sad news as their top receiver Jameson Williams suffered a torn ACL in the championship game and will have his draft stock plummet because of this injury. Georgia’s QB Stenson Bennet flew under the radar coming into this game as he was going head to head with the Hesiman winning quarterback. But he had an amazing game going 17/26 for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns, his performance out-performing Bryce Young and leading them to the title.

“Bennett may have made the play of the game, but this was a collective team effort. That throw, Mitchell’s contested catch, Cook’s breakaway run after the blocked field goal, Carter blocking that field goal, the pass rush collectively pressuring Young on nearly half of his dropbacks, Kelee Ringo overcoming a rough day for the game-sealing pick-six, Poole’s major improvement in the slot, the play calling on both sides of the ball and every other player that took the field for Georgia all played a part in the Bulldogs finally getting revenge on Alabama to win the 2021-22 College Football Playoff National Championship.” said PFF writer Anthony Treash.

This was a great game to end a great college football season. With many crazy things happening this year in college football it was nice to end the season with a fun clean close championship game. These 2 teams will surely be back in the hunt for the title next season and likely be the favorites to win the title next season with both teams having historically good recruiting classes. Next season will begin on august 27th and will provide us with another amazing season.
