Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour has been the experience of a lifetime for most, if not all of the concertgoers who have been lucky enough to witness the three and a half hour show of magnificence. Taylor Swift has taken 2023 by storm, having performed 57 shows so far throughout North America. She will embark on her international tour next year, and according to CNBC, it is estimated that she will make $1 billion off The Eras Tour once it ends. Miss Swift is on top of the world, and she will not come down soon. 

The Eras Tour had a six day run at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and it was surely the highlight of the summer. This goes especially for Santa Barbara fans. Many had never been to a big stadium for a concert, and they were beyond excited to see the incredible musical experience that is a Taylor Swift concert. Friendship bracelets were traded and worn amongst Swiftes, in homage to the Midnights track You’re on the Your Own Kid, song lyrics were sung passionately, especially to Speak Now’s Enchanted, and tears were shed, mainly when Swift performed the 10 minute version of “All Too Well” from her Red (Taylor’s Version) album. Fans made unbelievable memories that they will never forget. 

“Her performance was very iconic, and it was a very memorable concert. I will always remember the wonderful experience I had at this once in a lifetime show,” said San Marcos junior Sofia Gonzales. 

She attended the first night of The Eras Tour at SoFi stadium on August 3rd. She had been talking about the concert for months prior, and it sure met her expectations. 

 Some people were able to sit on the floor of the stadium, where they were closer to all of the action. Juniors Caroline and Olivia Barrios were grateful to be seated on the floor when they went to The Eras Tour. 

“I loved it so much, it was so great being surrounded by everyone who knew the lyrics to every song, and they were also just so nice,” said Caroline. 

When I went to the Eras Tour with my mom on the final night at SoFi, August 9th, I had the most wondrous night of my life. My mom was able to secure tickets on the floor, after not being able to get any at the first Ticketmaster sale fiasco. Ticketmaster ended up giving her another chance, because she is a verified fan who has purchased Taylor Swift tickets before. When she told me the news that we were going to the concert, I was ecstatic. We were both so happy that we ended up getting tickets after all. 

My experience being on the floor was like no other. I was in the front row of the section, and the stage was about seven feet away from me. It was unbelievable how close Taylor Swift was to me. Her talent and passion on stage was mesmerizing. She performed from 8pm to 11:45pm, with little to no breaks in between each Era. When she transitioned from one song to another, she would only have time to fix her hair and take a quick breath before belting out the next lyrics. It must have taken so much energy to deliver a full-out performance for almost four hours straight. The amount of power that Taylor held throughout the whole show was truly impressive.

 Although countless swifties everywhere miss being at The Eras Tour, they now have something to look forward to. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie is coming to theaters this October. October 13th is the first day that you can watch it, which is an appropriate date considering that Taylor’s lucky number is 13. The movie was filmed at the first three SoFi stadium shows (August 3rd, 4th, and 5th), and is stated to have a run time of two hours and 45 minutes. but it is still guaranteed to be an excellent opportunity for fans to relive their concert experience. It will most likely feature the most popular songs from the concert, and hopefully some behind the scenes shots of Taylor preparing to go on stage or rehearsing for the tour. It may be a shorter length compared to the actual concert, but it is still guaranteed to be an excellent opportunity for fans to relive their concert experience.

Similar to the concert, tickets for the movie were purchased so fast that they were gone in the snap of a finger. According to AMC theaters, a large chain of movie theaters that is showing The Eras Tour movie at various locations, $26 million dollars was made off of tickets in just 24 hours. AMC also announced that the morning after tickets were on sale, the movie event had already broken single-day ticket revenue records, surpassing the records for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was released in 2021 and highly popular with moviegoers. One thing is for sure, Taylor Swift fans are not afraid to dive headfirst into battle when it comes to securing tickets. 

Overall, The Eras Tour has been the most extraordinary, magical, emotional, and inspiring experiences for me and people everywhere. It has often been called “An Economic Phenomenon,” and is considered to become the highest grossing tour to exist. If you were not able to attend The Eras Tour, it is highly recommended that you go see the film, because you will truly not regret having the experience of a lifetime!
