On Wednesday September 11th, the San Marcos girls flag football team took on rival school Santa Barbara High School and had an amazing win with a final score of 24-8. The San Marcos girls flag football team has 17 spirited members, and so far has had an almost undefeated season.
The team has an active social media account on TikTok that everybody should follow. You can truly see the bond between the team members through their videos. The account posts videos on everything from interviewing fellow San Marcos students with flag-football trivia, to game day motivation videos, to showcasing their great wins.
“It was a super fun game and all our girls have been working super hard for this game. We won 24-8 which is just what we were hoping for,” said junior flag football player Mianna Sturm.
This is only San Marcos’s second year having a flag football team. Both last year’s season and this years are ones the player’s should be proud of.
“I love our team, it’s a great group of girls and I think we all work super well together,” said junior team manager Soleil Paszkeicz.
The success of Tuesday’s game is especially important because it was a cross-town rivalry game against Santa Barbara High School.
There are more flag football games that will come soon. Make sure to try and attend one, royals!
