On the verge of the first ever three peat in NFL history, The Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback, Patrick Mahomes are just one game away from hoisting their third Lombardi trophy in three years. Standing in their way is one of the NFLs best assembled offenses ever, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles recognize familiar faces in the Super Bowl, where both teams squared off against each other for a rematch of the 2023 Super Bowl. The Eagles look to flip the script and come out victorious this year around after they fell short in the final minutes of Super Bowl LVII just a couple years prior, 38-35.
The Eagles are coming off an offensive masterclass, putting up 55 points, routing a young commanders team in the NFC championship game, 55-23. The offense looked practically unstoppable, on the ground and through the air. Newly acquired running back Saquan Barkley has flourished all year for the Eagles and hasn’t seemed to slow down this postseason. Barkley racked up 118 yards on just 15 attempts, including a 60-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage.
“The Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl because they have Saquon Barkley, who sadly beat my Rams in the divisional game but hopefully he can destroy the Chiefs too,” said senior Quinn Donnell.
Barkley also punched in three touchdowns in the NFC championship game to crush any hope for Washington to climb back.
“The Chiefs won’t be able to stop Saquan,” said senior Charlie Angeles, another student at San Marcos rooting for the Eagles.
Senior Ollie Martinez added, “Eagles are going to win, they have Saquan.”
The Kansas City Chiefs on the other hand are coming off a nail-biter that eliminated Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills for the fourth time in Patrick Mahomes Playoff career.
“The Chiefs are going to win the Super Bowl, they have the best quarterback and best team in the league,” said sophomore Hayden Feleay.
The Chiefs are not new to the playoffs by any means, reaching the AFC Championship every year for the past seven years since Patrick Mahomes took over the Quarterbacking duties in 2018. Mahomes has already cemented himself as one of the greatest players of all time and has even drawn comparisons to seven-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady.
“This year Mahomes is going to get it done for the chiefs and will three-peat,” said senior Nate Jones.
“I had the Ravens winning it before the season but now between the two, the Chiefs will take it home,” Jones continued.
Kansas City looks to roll past the Eagles to claim their fourth Super Bowl win in franchise History. Although the Philadelphia Eagles and Saquan Barkley look like heavy favorites to win around campus, still some students at San Marcos believe that Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will get it done once again in New Orleans. Grab some friends and food, and tune in on February 9th to see who comes out on top at Super Bowl LlX! To the Chiefs defense stacking the box to stop Philadelphia’s dangerous run game or dropping back in coverage to guard All-pro Wide receivers, A.J Brown and Davonte Smith, the Eagles offense is Chaos for any NFL Defense. That was shown on full display this past Sunday
