Due to the coronavirus, the annual Club Fair could not happen. It is always nice to walk around the booths and see all the new clubs so instead, here is a virtual club fair for you! All of the zoom links for these clubs are accessible on the San Marcos website under Campus Life>Clubs.

K-Pop Club

Calling all NCTzens, BTS A.R.M.Y. members, Blinks, and other KPop stans! San Marcos has a brand new KPop club for you! At meetings, you’ll stream fun music videos, chat about K-dramas, learn choreo, trade photo cards, and of course meet other KPop stans!

“I really love the group NCT and my idea of making this club is so we can find people who share the same interests and of course to make friends!” says Gabrielle Tejano, the freshman in charge of the KPop Club.

Gabrielle knows some Korean, and dances, so she is very qualified to be in charge. Tune in to meetings on Thursdays from 11:45-12:15 to have some fun!

Orkeeswa Club

Located in rural Tanzania, the Orkeeswa school offers a free secondary education to children. In a place where education is hard to come by and girls are not treated as equals, they aim to teach children to become leaders in their community and that everyone is equal. Club leader, sophomore Dawson Kelly says, “Orkeeswa is a super important part of this area of Tanzania because it gives students food, education and offers them opportunities for the future.” The Orkeeswa Club’s goal is to fundraise to provide scholarships for students. It takes a lot of money to keep the school staffed, with transportation, and to provide free nutritional meals. That is where clubs like this come in. The Orkeeswa Club’s goal is to fundraise to provide scholarships for students. You can check out the school’s website here or join the club to learn more. Meetings will be held every other Wednesday from 11:45-12:15.
