You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown

With the coming urgency of preparing for the spring semester’s musical, the San Marcos theater department has managed to squeeze in one last show for the fall: You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. This 1967 musical offers a theatrical variant of darling personalities and perspectives on life from Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang.

Following the same stage format as this year’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and the One Acts, theater goers will spectate the simple yet charming set from the stage itself, creating a close-up, more intimate view of the actors.

“The size of our cast for this senior musical is definitely smaller compared to any of our other plays which has definitely made things easier in terms of size and choreography,” said senior Lila Clarke, long time stage manager for SM who oversaw the construction and production of this year’s plays. “The construction sort of stays the same in terms of difficulty. With the Charlie Brown set we have had less complicated things to build, aside from the beautiful red dog house that our wonderful deck crew chief built for our Snoopy!”

Tickets for You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, which airs on 1/24, are on sale now through GoFan!
