Fir Real?!

           A Christmas tree is essential for this Christmas season. The fresh smell of pine in your home while you decorate with ornaments is iconic for this season. But where can you get a real Christmas tree? Fortunately there are a variety of local places in Santa Barbara to get your perfect tree! Here are just a few of the best places to get your tree!

          If you thought the pumpkin patch was great, just wait till you hear about Lanes Farms Christmas tree patch which is starting on November 25 and going through December 20. It will be open daily at 10am through 8pm. If you are looking for a real pine Christmas tree then the Christmas patch is a great way to start this Holiday season. Lanes farms is decorated according to the holiday season, making it feel like Christmas everywhere you go. There are tons of Christmas trees to see. The Christmas tree patch includes a large variety of all shapes and sizes with pine scents. Types of trees include Noble Fir, Nordman and Douglas Fir and are said to be grown in a tree farm in Oregon. Christmas tree stands are also sold there as well as candy cane hoses to water your tree.  Christmas trees are cut and tied on your car for you to take home. It is always a good idea to support local businesses  especially in Santa Barbara, you also can not have Christmas without a Christmas tree, so might as well get one at Lanes Farms. Christmas trees are not the only thing being sold, there are a lot of delicious Christmas snacks too!

              “We got our Christmas tree and they also had these really yummy pretzels dipped in yogurt I think,” said San Marcos sophomore Enna Garcia, who recently visited to get her Christmas tree, ”there was also popcorn!” According to the Lane Farms website, the farm animals, corn maze, and farm tractors are still open to the public if you were wondering.

              Anthony’s Christmas Tree Patch is located at Earl Warren Showgrounds and has been around since 1954. They have a variety of Christmas trees and wreaths, tree holders and more. You can also check out their website and shop online (you can pre-order too). They have Norman Douglas and Noble Fir trees. The trees are under shade at all times.They also hold a donation of Christmas trees for people in the military which can be located on their website. Remember they are located at Earl Warren Showgrounds, 3400 Calle Real, and are open Monday–Thursday from 9:00am – 8:00pm, on Friday & Saturday from 9:00am – 9:00pm, and onSunday from 10:00am – 7:00pm. Parking is free! 

          Christmas is right around the corner. Even though Christmas is still a few weeks away, trees are expected to sell out. It is never too early to shop for a Christmas tree.
